Monsoon Mama

Nature or Mother Nature?

During the months of the Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo, the Arizona desert takes on a new energy with the monsoon season.  A day begins with a clear blue sky.  Robust white clouds begin to rise above the mountains.  Winds increase. Heavy dark clouds loom on the horizon. Skies begin to rumble.  The scent of desert rain fills the air.  Electrical and natural elements stir. Lightening fiercely arrives.  The skies release sideways downpours.  Waters flow wickedly through dry canyons and washes, carrying nature in its wild path. The desert life soaks in this drenching, one which will hold them through endless dry spell until next monsoon season.  This piece embraces a vision of Mother Nature, or as I call her, Monsoon Mama.  Her hair flies wildly in the winds, she sits calmly knowing that this intense and exciting storm will be over as quickly as it began.
